Historic Schweikher House in Schaumburg to host peony garden party fundraiser May 31

The Schweikher House Preservation Trust is inviting the public to an afternoon garden party fundraiser at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at the historic Schweikher House in Schaumburg.

Attendees will enjoy the beautiful peony garden, drinks, food and music. The event will feature over 20 Martyl Langsdorf paintings, on loan from private collections, to be displayed only for this event.

Langsdorf was a longtime resident of the home, who had over 100 solo exhibitions during her eight-decade career.

The Schweikher House was constructed in 1938 as Modernist architect Paul Schweikher’s home and studio. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a local Schaumburg landmark and the AIA Illinois top 200 architectural sites in Illinois.
