Girls volleyball: Conant tops Schaumburg in three sets

No. 16 Conant posted a 22-25, 25-16, 25-19 triumph over No. 17 Schaumburg in the Saxons' Class 4A girls volleyball regional on Monday night.

Cougars coach Drewann Pancratz' offense was led on attack by Yuri Hara (15 kills, 15 digs) while setter Fiona Fennelly handed out 26 assists.

Other leaders for the Cougars were Jessica Sharp (4 kills, 4 blocks), Chikere Odoucha (6 blocks), Natalie Jurgenson (12 digs), Emma Bowman (9 digs) and Annie Jancaric (7 digs).

Conant (13-17) will face top-seeded Loyola in Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. semifinal.

Maine West d. Proviso West: The No. 15-seeded Warriors (19-17) earned a 25-17, 25-21 over No. 18 Proviso West in the Class 4A Addison Trail regional play-in match. Maine West will face No. 2 York in Tuesday's 5:30 semifinal.

Highland Park d. Elk Grove: No. 11 Highland Park posted a 25-22, 25-22 win over No. 22 Elk Grove in the play-in match of the Class 4A Glenbrook North regional.
