Mount Prospect Public Works Open House set for May 17

The Mount Prospect Public Works Department is hosting its annual open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, the public works facility, 1700 W. Central Road.

The event features prizes, a tour of the facility, rides in the department’s aerial trucks and backhoes, a children’s Fun Fact Hunt and a wide range of displays demonstrating how the village’s water system, sewer system, parkway trees, buildings, streets, and vehicles are maintained.

Kids can meet and get a photo with PW Paws, the Mount Prospect Public Works Department mascot. Refreshments will be provided by the Mount Prospect Lions Club.

The Public Works Open House is held in conjunction each year with the American Public Works Association National Public Works Week.
