Warrenville church to host service honoring MLK’s legacy

Community Baptist Church, 28W444 Main St. in Warrenville, is hosting a “Service of Remembrance and Action” on Friday, April 4, as they gather to honor the life and legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., a fellow American Baptist, and a beacon of hope and justice.

This special service at 7 p.m. is open to everyone in the Warrenville community and beyond. It will be a time of reflection, prayer, and renewed commitment to the principles he championed.

In remembrance of King, participants will:

• Reflect on his profound impact on the Civil Rights Movement and his enduring message of nonviolent resistance.

• Acknowledge the ongoing struggle for social justice, including civil rights, and the work that remains to be done.

• Reaffirm commitment to addressing injustice and serving those in need within the community and beyond.

• Celebrate the power of faith and community to bring about positive change.

King’s unwavering dedication to justice and equality resonates deeply with the church’s mission as an American Baptist Church. The church is called to be a light in the world, to stand with the marginalized, and to work tirelessly for a more just and equitable society.

The church welcomes all members of the community, regardless of faith or background, to join as they honor King’s legacy and recommit ourselves to the pursuit of justice and peace.

Come together as a community to remember, to reflect, and to renew commitment to serving God and neighbors.
