Smith Marks 25 Years of Helping Others Plan for Successful Financial Futures

Kyle Smith, Principal and Wealth Management Advisor at Freund & Smith Advisors, celebrated 25 years of service in the financial services industry helping others plan for and achieve their financial goals.

"I am extremely fortunate to have Kyle as my business partner," says Alex Freund, Principal and Financial Advisor of Freund & Smith Advisors, based in Northbrook. "He is a rare combination of ethical, considerate, intelligent and easy going. He is one of those guys that makes life better having him as a friend." Smith started as a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual in 1998, right out of college. Smith and Freund formed their own business as part of Northwestern Mutual's Private Client Group in 2020.

Smith holds the CFP®, CLU®, and RICP® designations and is a Million Dollar Round Table Qualifying / Life Member. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and FINSECA.

"I have enjoyed coaching my kids in multiple sports as they grew up and I realize I do something very similar in my career," says Smith. "Understanding where clients currently are in life, identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing changes and monitoring progress is what I do each day in the office, similar to when I am coaching. And while success is not measured in wins and losses, the reward is when clients thank you for helping improve their situation."

Smith is a native of Libertyville, IL and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He currently lives in Evanston with his wife Julie and their two children Brady and Kennedy. He is a past president and board member of the Chicago Community Tool Bank and a member of the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce.
