Scheduled tree trimmings may prompt brief trail interruptions in Elgin
Tree trimming projects along the Fox River Trail in Elgin may lead to brief trail interruptions, beginning in April.
Asplundh Tree Service has two trimming projects scheduled. The first will be trimming trees along the Fox River Trail from Slade Avenue north to Route 90, from Thursday, April 1 through Saturday, April 10.
The plans for the second project to continue trimming trees along the Fox River Trail, will happen later this season, from Route 90 north to Route 72.
These projects are part of the utility's effort to keep trees trimmed near power lines and utility poles, and to remove dead and declining trees.
While the Fox River Trail will remain open during the projects, the Forest Preserve District of Kane County asks trail users to obey all signs and barricades, and to always use caution when traveling past trucks and equipment on the trail.
Signs will be posted on the trail at both ends during the projects, to alert trail users.
