Learn how to make figgy pudding with Lombard Historical Society Nov. 21

Why have steamed Christmas puddings stood the test of time and become a staple of holidays around the world? Are you a fan of the Great British Bake-Off?

The Lombard Historical Society presents “How to Make Figgy Pudding!” Get into the holiday spirit and learn how to make this classic dessert as Kim White leads a step-by-step demonstration at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. There will even be some to try!

This event is free but space is limited and requires tickets which are available at lombardhistory.org. For questions, email info@lombardhistory.org, or phone (630) 629-1885. Participants will be given a recipe card.

Maple Street, as well as the Sheldon Peck Homestead (a National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Site) at 355 E. Parkside Avenue in Lombard. The Sheldon Peck Homestead hosts activities and is open for tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from noon to 4 pm. The Victorian Cottage is open for tours on Fridays and Saturdays at 1:00, 2:00 & 3:00 pm only. The Lilac Emporium Gift Shop is open Tuesdays – Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
