The Illinois Student Assistance Commission will give a presentation and workshop on federal student aid from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 19 at the second-floor meeting room at the West Chicago Public Library, 118 W. Washington St.

The commission will teach students and parents the general financial aid process and discuss how to apply for it, eligibility, and how aid can help pay for college.

The presentation includes information on the free application for Federal Student Aid and the alternative application for Illinois Financial Aid and will summarize federal and state aid programs.

The Student Assistance Commission will help attendees create the Federal Student Aid identification needed before starting the application process.

No registration is required for the program. For information, call (630) 231-1552.
