Park Ridge restaurant hosts Friendsgiving Dinner to benefit Lung Association Nov. 15

You've heard of "wine and cheese," but how about "wine and breathe?"

That's what the American Lung Association and Park Ridge Alderman Fred Sanchez are inviting everyone to do on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at The Harp & Fiddle in Park Ridge, in support of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, November.

During this 'Giving Season' this event provides a perfect time to gather with family and friends while raising critical funds toward the American Lung Association. The event features a four-course prix-fixe menu paired with wine and live music by Bryan Harrell.

WHO: Individuals, families, groups of friends and corporate community partners throughout Park Ridge and surrounding communities.

WHAT: Attendees of the inaugural "Friendsgiving Dinner" event will enjoy a four-course prix-fixe menu paired with delectable wine in support of Lung Cancer Awareness Month and the Lung Association:

• Butternut Squash Bisque: Paired with Sauvignon Blanc

• Crab & Shrimp Arancini: Paired with Chardonnay

• Skirt Steak Alla Edgar: Paired with Creston Valley Cabernet

• Pear Tart: Paired with Fore Blend

Tickets are $100 per person. Reservations can be made by calling The Park & Fiddle at (847) 720-4466.

WHY: More than one million people in Greater Chicago suffer from lung disease and more than 9,000 people across Illinois die from lung disease each year. Funds raised from the event will support the Lung Association's efforts to save lives by improve lung health and prevent lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.
