Driver cited after dump truck crashes into tree and fence of home in Bartlett

Bartlett police cited a dump truck driver Wednesday morning after his vehicle left the roadway, crashed into a tree and then the fence of a home before flipping onto its side.

Jason Simmons, 47, of Campus, Illinois was cited for improper lane use.

Simmons complained to police of a medical incident before his 1998 truck left the roadway on the 1900 block of Woodhaven Drive. But he declined further medical attention after an examination by paramedics.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

His court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
