Schaumburg P.E.O. chapter donates paper goods to Family Forward

The Schaumburg P.E.O. Chapter P-LK recently helped support the nonprofit Family Forward organization with a paper goods drive, when Erica Chianelli, executive director of Family Forward, highlighted Family Forward’s purpose, goals and accomplishments at the chapter’s regular September meeting.

Chianelli explained that Family Forward’s goal is to help families become financially independent. To do this, the organization assists with housing costs, and provides mentoring services to participants, most of whom are single mothers. Because public assistance programs do not allows recipients to purchase paper products, she said that when mentors visit their clients they try to bring toilet paper, tissue, or paper towels.

Earlier this month, Schaumburg P.E.O. members helped Family Forward by preparing a mailing advertising the organization’s upcoming fundraiser, “There’s No Place Like A Home.” The brunch event will be on Sunday, Oct. 20, at Cotillion Banquets in Palatine.
