Elgin, Schaumburg police to play charity softball game

Elgin and Schaumburg police will play on the same team in a charity softball game Saturday, Aug. 24, to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana.

Police will take the field against a Bear Family Restaurants squad. The McDonald’s franchise organization operates nearly three dozen restaurants in the Chicago area.

The 5th annual Slow Pitch Softball Charity Game will be at Wintrust Field, home of the Schaumburg Boomers, at 5 p.m. General admission tickets are $5 each and must be purchased online at bearfamilyrestaurants.com/charitygame2024.

The event will also feature raffles, concessions and appearances by McDonald’s mascots.

Proceeds benefit the regional Ronald McDonald House chapter, an organization that provides “all the comforts of home” for families with sick children in the hospital.
