Naper Nights to feature tributes to Garth Brooks and Jim Croce July 19-20

The Naper Nights Community Concert Series continues on July 19-20 with a Garth Brooks tribute and A.J. Croce performing a tribute to his father Jim Croce.

The concert series is 5 to 10 p.m. both nights at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St. in Naperville.

The headliner on Friday will be The Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute, one of the world’s longest, continually performing Garth Brooks tribute acts. The band will take the Naper Nights stage for a special concert that will leave visitors feeling like they are right there with Garth Brooks himself from 8-10 p.m.

On Saturday from 8-10 p.m., A.J. Croce will celebrate his father Jim Croce’s timeless music during his Croce Plays Croce 50th Anniversary Tour. The show will feature two generations of Croce music and many songs by other artists which connect father and son as performers.

Opening for The Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute will be Hillbilly Rockstarz performing country hits from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on July 19. The Heavy Sounds featuring Gina Bloom and Renaldo Domino will perform soulful sounds on July 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. Both Naper Nights concerts will open the night with local students from the School of Rock playing their favorites on stage from 5-5:40 p.m.

Naper Settlement will celebrate the community by offering local eats from a variety of vendors including Granite City & Famous Dave’s, Guzman Y Gomez, John’s Rib House, Calogero's Old World Italian Pizza, Grumpy Gaucho, Ben & Jerry’s, Molly’s Cupcakes, and Hello Boba.

There will be beer selections from Alter Brewing Company, wine selections from Rodney Strong Vineyards, and organic tequila seltzers from Freshie.

A children’s area with activities provided by Pinot’s Palette, Chaser’s Laser Tag, and Joyful Bubbles will also be on site.

Each night, all tips collected at the beverage tents benefit a local organization. Tips on Friday benefit the Naperville Area Humane Society, and Saturday’s tips will go to the Naperville Jaycees.

Naper Nights tickets are $20 or $15 for youth, ages 4-12. Members and children under 4 receive complimentary admission. For more information and tickets, visit NaperNights.org.

The series will continue on Aug. 16-17 with guitarist and singer-songwriter Samantha Fish as the headliner and Old Shoe, a five-piece Americana roots rock band, opening on Friday, and Sparks Fly will perform a Taylor Swift tribute, with opener One Night Band, on Saturday.
