Wauconda holds public hearing Wednesday on solar proposal
Wauconda’s zoning board of appeals/plan commission will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, to discuss a proposed solar energy farm at the northwest corner of West Bonner and North Garland roads.
The hearing takes place in the board room at village hall, 101 N. Main St.
According to village documents, the proposal calls for the solar operation on a parcel at 1206 N. Garland Road, within the Wauconda Sand & Gravel Landfill Superfund Site. The developer is seeking a conditional use permit from the village to allow the project.
A copy of the application/petition is available for public inspection at the village clerk’s office in village hall or on the village website, www.wauconda-il.gov.
The zoning board of appeals/plan commission will make a recommendation regarding the request to the village board, which has final say over the proposal.
