Shout Section Big Band performs Dec. 17 at Baker Community Center

On Saturday, Dec. 17, the Shout Section Big Band, directed by Brett Dean and featuring vocalist Tatum Langley, will perform a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee.

Presented as part of the Saturday Night Lights series produced by the Norris Cultural Arts Center, the concert also will include arrangements of holiday season songs popularized by the two female jazz greats.

It will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Baker Community Center, 101 S. Second St. in downtown St. Charles.

The Shout Section Big Band was formed in 2007, specializing in "big band, swing band" arrangements of jazz standards, new music and a wide variety of popular music styles.

The band features top Chicago area musicians, and has performed throughout the Midwest, as well as on radio and television. Featured vocalist Tatum Langley is a versatile performer and rising star as a singer, actress and dancer.
