Girl Scouts do good turn for local library

Troop 1432, fifth-graders from Butterfield School, personified the Girl Scout slogan, "Do a Good Turn Daily" with their visit to Cook Park Library in Libertyville on Monday, April 30.

As part of their work on a puppeteering badge, the scouts assembled craft materials and created one-of-a-kind hand puppets.

Once their badge was earned, the scouts graciously offered to donate their newly created toys and unused materials to the library which were humbly accepted.

"We would like to thank Troop 1432 for their thoughtful donation," said Children Services Manager Melissa Henderson. "The hand puppets can be used at storytime programs as well as in the Early Learning Center at Cook Park Library, and the craft materials can be used as part of Outreach programming offered by the Bookmobile in the summer months."

The library was very pleased to help this local troop achieve a significant milestone on the Girl Scout journey to leadership.
