Cops: Sleeping driver charged with DUI in Lisle

A Downers Grove man was charged with drunken driving after police found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle, which was in the drive position, at a Lisle intersection, authorities said Monday.

Joshua D. Guziec, 25, of the 500 block of Franklin Street, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Sunday after police were called to check on the well-being of a driver at the Ogden Avenue and I-355 interchange, according to a police report.

Police said Guziec was asleep and slumped over the steering wheel of a car, which was still in drive. An officer managed to shift the vehicle into park and awaken the driver, according to a police report.

Authorities said Guziec was administered two field sobriety tests before refusing to cooperate further. He was charged with driving under the influence and released on bond, police said.
