The Village of Schaumburg will hold its annual Youth-In-Government Day on Wednesday, May 20 at the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center where students from Schaumburg High School will participate in daily activities and tasks commonly performed by village employees.

The student and his or her corresponding department is responsible for presenting the agenda item, justifying the request and encouraging the Mock Village Board to approve the request. This allows the students to learn the process for approving village expenditures. In addition, students will be able to exercise discretion to fund a program or service they feel is worthwhile and will benefit the community. The proposal that is selected by the Mock Village Board will be funded by the Village of Schaumburg.
Students will also be encouraged to utilize social media to share and communicate their experiences throughout the day.
