Carolina Panthers to increase security at stadium for Sunday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Officials with the Carolina Panthers say security at Bank of America Stadium will be heightened for Sunday's game in light of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

Local media outlets report the team said Thursday that fans attending the game against the Washington Redskins should expect to see an increase in security at entry gates. The team also said Charlotte-Mecklenburg police will have more officers at gates, on bike patrol, and additional observation towers in the area of the stadium. Fans are advised to leave for the game early.

The Panthers had already been reviewing security procedures after protesters managed to rappel from the upper deck of the stadium during a Monday night game against the Indianapolis Colts. The protesters said they passed through security with their equipment.
