Wauconda 9/11 Memorial dedication set

Wauconda's Heroes of Freedom Memorial will be unveiled in a ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 11, officials announced.

The memorial is being constructed at 301 S. Main St., just south of Route 176. It features a beam from one of the fallen World Trade Center buildings, among other elements.

Although not yet complete, much of the memorial is in place.
