Fox Lake Venetian Night includes boat parade, fireworks

Fox Lake will host its 8th annual Venetian Night and Block Party starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the end of West Grand Avenue. The lighted Venetian-style boat parade, "Zombies on the Chain," starts at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for creativity, costumes, decorations and lighting of the boat parade entries. First place will be awarded $500, second place will win $300, and third place will take home $200. Entry forms for the boat parade are attached at the village website at foxlake.org. A fireworks finale will start around 9:30 p.m. A free shuttle service will be in place for the event. Shuttle buses will pick up people at Millennium Park on Rollins Road, the Lakefront Park on Nippersink Drive, the village community center on South Street, and Fox Lake Village Hall on Thelen Drive. The shuttle will run in 15-minute intervals between 6 and 10:30 p.m. The event also includes food, beverages and dancing.
