Cat saved from Schaumburg fire
No injuries occurred, and even a pet cat was found safe, after a Wednesday morning fire that left an end unit uninhabitable in a four-unit townhouse building on the 2800 block of Belle Lane in Schaumburg.
No one in the damaged unit was home at the time, but a neighbor reported the fire at 11:11 a.m., authorities said.
The fire, which appeared to have started in the kitchen, was extinguished in about 10 minutes, but its cause remained under investigation Wednesday, Schaumburg Fire Department officials said.
The other three units of the townhouse building sustained no damage.
