Taste of Roselle lives up to its name

The name probably tells you all you need to know about the Taste of Roselle.

If you want to get a feel for the community, if you want to get a taste of what life is like here, the three-day festival that opened Friday night and continues Saturday and Sunday on Main Street between Roselle Road and Park Street is the perfect opportunity.

First, of course, you'll get the chance to sample food from a variety of vendors. But there's also the music, the carnival rides, the craft booths, the bingo tent and more that gives you a chance to mingle with and get to know many of the village's residents.

Admission to the festival - which runs from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday - is free and so is parking.
