Wheaton concert series celebrates 'Music Mondays'

You're in weekend withdrawal.

It's seemingly ages before the next summer festival or concert.

Wheaton Park District has the perfect fix, a way to keep your eyes off the calendar and ease the transition into the workweek: Music Mondays.

The free, outdoor summer concert series is held every Monday night in July at the Memorial Park band shell. No need to bring a lawn chair or a cooler; benches and concessions are offered at the park.

On Monday night, The Niche, a cover band of '60s American and British hits, took the stage for the penultimate show.

The last concert in the series is set for 6:30 p.m. July 27, with Brother John Kattke, a resident blues musician at Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago for more than two decades.
