Chicago Blackhawks agree to one-year deal with Cumiskey

Kyle Cumiskey, who played in 16 games last season for the Blackhawks, has agreed to a one-year deal with the club, team officials announced Thursday.

The 28-year-old defenseman returned to the Blackhawks this season on a professional tryout contract while rehabbing from a lower body injury.

Bob McKensie of TSN also reported that the Blackhawks placed Cumiskey on waivers. If he clears waivers, the Blackhawks could then assign him to their AHL club in Rockford.

Cumiskey has recorded 35 points (9G, 26A) in 139 NHL games in his career.
