Schaumburg Boomers winning championships, new fans

In addition to winning their second consecutive Frontier League championship, the Schaumburg Boomers baseball team also found success at the gate during the 2014 season.

The Boomers finished first in the 14-team Frontier League in per game and total attendance, and the team tied for the league's best overall record.

With an average of 3,212 fans per game, attendance at Boomers Stadium increased by 6.9 percent over 2013, and is up 27 percent from the inaugural 2012 season.

The Boomers were the only team in the Frontier League to increase per game attendance each of the last two seasons, and boasted the largest per game increase, with an additional 207 fans per game from 2013.
