5 things to do in the suburbs this weekend

Haunting

Naper Settlement will be transformed into one large haunted house during the interactive All Hallow's Eve event this weekend. Creepy characters will roam the grounds of 523 S. Webster St., Naperville, while the Settlement's historic buildings will be converted into H.H. Holmes' Murder Castle, Lizzie Borden's home, Frankenstein's lab, a torture dungeon and a Victorian insane asylum. $20; free for Naper Settlement members. Not recommended for kids younger than 8. Carpenters tribute

Celebrate the music of The Carpenters on Friday when the tribute show "Close to You" plays the Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1201 Main St., Batavia. Tickets cost $25-$35. Fall fest extravaganza

Dress up your pooch and head out to the Randhurst Village Fall Fest Pet Costume Parade at 1 Randhurst Village Drive, Mount Prospect. Family fun includes pumpkin decorating, horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, games, crafts, bouncy house, owls from the Stillman Nature Center and more. Come in costume. Free admission. Monster bash

Zombies are set to take over downtown Elgin Saturday night when the Halloween party Nightmare on Chicago Street returns. Four stages of entertainment, food, drinks, graffiti artists and performances from guests like Svengoolie can be found in the safe zone (aka Chicago Street). $12-$15; $25 with VIP parking. Stoogefest 2018

If you like Larry, Curly and Moe, then "Stoogefest 2018: The Three Stooges Live Vegas Show!" might be for you. This tribute show at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E.
