Schaumburg sets medical marijuana impact fee

Schaumburg officials Tuesday set an annual impact fee of $37,752 for any medical marijuana dispensary that may locate within the village.

The impact fee reflects the presumed cost of one police call and one paramedic call per week to the dispensary, officials said.

Schaumburg has received six applications for such dispensaries, which will be reviewed by the village's zoning board of appeals. But only one dispensary can qualify for a state license for the entire jurisdiction covered by Schaumburg Township and Elk Grove Township.
