No injuries reported in Wheaton house fire

No injuries were reported Sunday night in a fire that caused extensive damage to the attic and roof of a house on the 1100 block of Midwest Lane in Wheaton, officials said.

Firefighters said they were called around 9:40 p.m. and arrived to find heavy fire in the attic.

Crews brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes and the sole occupant of the house escaped unharmed.

Investigators from the Wheaton Fire Department and DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force investigated the blaze and said it does not appear to be suspicious. The cause and damage estimates are unknown at this time.
