Authorities: West Chicago teen brought airgun to school, threatened to kill another student
A 15-year-old West Chicago boy has been charged with felony disorderly conduct after he was accused of displaying a gun and threatening another student at West Chicago High School.
Authorities allege that near the end of the school day Monday afternoon, the student displayed the gun - later determined to be an airgun - from his backpack and told the other student, "I'm going to shoot you."
The victim told school authorities about it after school had dismissed, according to a news release from the DuPage County state's attorney's office.
The boy was arrested at his home Monday. He appeared in juvenile court Tuesday, where a judge ordered he remain in custody until his next court date, which is Friday.
The news release did not name the boy. Typically, DuPage judges do not allow publication of the names of suspects prosecuted in juvenile court.
