Blackhawks recall F Nordstrom, G Darling from minors
CHICAGO (AP) - The struggling Blackhawks have recalled forward Joakim Nordstrom and goalie Scott Darling from Rockford of the American Hockey League.
They also announced a two-year contract extension for Darling, who is 5-2 with a 1.97 goals-against average in seven games with Chicago. Darling was born in Lemont, a Chicago suburb.
The Blackhawks reassigned goalie Antti Raanta and forward Ryan Hartman to their top minor league affiliate after Sunday's 6-2 loss to Boston.
Nordstrom has two assists in 24 games with the Blackhawks this season.
Raanta made a relief appearance against the Bruins and stopped 14 of 16 shots. The 25-year-old Raanta is 7-4-1 with a 1.89 GAA in 14 games for the Blackhawks this season.
The 20-year-old Hartman had no points in five games with Chicago.
The Blackhawks have lost three straight (0-2-1) for the first time since last March.
