Three more days of Taste of Wheaton

Taste of Wheaton opened Thursday evening with great weather and an afternoon packed with food, carnival rides and live music.

The four-day festival, which takes place primarily in Memorial Park at 208 W. Union Ave., continues from 4 to 11 p.m. today; 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Family-friendly activities that are available every day for the remainder of the festival include mini golf at Clocktower Commons, a climbing wall, the carnival and an arts and crafts fair.

Highlights on Friday include a car club exhibition on Hale Street from 6 to 9 p.m. and a performance Hi-Infidelity at 8 p.m.

Saturday's festivities begin with the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals race at 7:30 a.m. There will also be art in the park that day, including a tie-dye station, face painter and community art project, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Six performances are scheduled at the band shell, including an 8 p.m. show by 7th Heaven.

All the activities will shut down by 6 p.m. Sunday, except the carnival, which runs until 8 p.m.
