2018 Screen Test Student Fest - Call for Entries

The Prairie Center for the Arts is now accepting entries for the 2018 Screen Test Student Fest. The entry deadline is Monday, February 19 with a late deadline of March 2.

The festival offers three separate events - Screen Test Local Fest on Friday, April 20, 7:30 pm; Screen Test Jr. on Saturday, April 21, 11 am; and the International High School Competition, Saturday, April 21, 7:30 pm. Where students live and the year they are in school will determine the Screen Test event in which a film should be entered.

Screen Test Local Fest

The Screen Test Local Fest is open to students who live within 30 miles of Schaumburg and are U.S. High School students in grades 9 - 12. Local high school students should not apply for the International High School Competition. By entering a film in the local fest, it will be automatically considered for entry in the international competition. The winning film from the local fest will automatically advance to the international fest (other local films may be accepted into the international competition based on merit). All accepted films will vie for cast prizes totaling $700. The winning film automatically advances to Screen Test's International High School Competition on Saturday, April 21. Other films may also advance based on their merit.

Screen Test Jr.

Screen Test Jr. is an international competition open to students in grades 5 - 8. Teacher or parent supervised films are accepted, along with individual projects. Content must be age-appropriate. The top film will receive a $100 cash prize. The entry fee is $5 (limit 3 submissions per person).

Screen Test International High School Competition

The Screen Test International High School Competition is open to all high school students from anywhere in the world (Note: local students should not apply to this category. Please see Local Fest information). The best of the best, showing high school student short films from here and abroad. All filmmakers must be present to participate.The top prize is $500 to Best in Show.
