Fly a kite to Support Illinois park districts
Join the Schaumburg Park District and Districts all over Illinois to raise awareness for the Illinois Association of Park Districts Youth License Plate Program.
Schaumburg Park District's Bock Neighborhood Center and Park, 1223 W. Sharon Lane, will host the annual Flying 4 Kids Kite Fly and Family Picnic from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 26. The license plate program raises funds for youth after school programming at Illinois Park Districts.
"Flying 4 Kids gives families the opportunity to get outdoors and support their local park district," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Center manager and general program supervisor.
Participants may bring their own kite or build one with a kite-making kit. Kits are included with registration fee.
Pre-registration for this program is recommended. Registration is available at parkfun.com and District registration facilities. Cost is $7 for resident children and $10 for non-resident children. Adults are free.
Event will be held rain or shine, wind or no wind.
