Lake Street closed in Addison after police chase ends in crash

Addison police have shut down Lake Street between Lombard Road and Central Court while investigating a traffic accident, authorities said.

Police said a traffic stop took place at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday night, but the driver fled the scene trying to escape police.

Officials said the car was discovered moments later after it crashed on Lake Street.

The man involved was arrested and remains in police custody.

The area was closed while police investigate the crash.
