Man living at home with day care charged with child porn
A McHenry man living in the same home as a state-licensed day care is facing charges for possession of child pornography, officials said.
Michael L. Chaparro, 26, of the 4500 block of West Ramble Road, was charged earlier this week with possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the McHenry County sheriff's office.
The Illinois attorney general's office and the Pennsylvania State Police identified Chaparro as someone downloading child pornography through his IP address, the news release said.
A search warrant was executed on Tuesday, and child pornography was found on Chaparro's computer, police said. He was arrested at the home.
Chaparro had been living with his parents, who run a state-licensed day care facility from their home, police said.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was notified of Chaparro's arrest and has developed a safety plan for the 10 children enrolled in the day care at that address, police said, including that Chaparro is not allowed to be present when the children are at the home.
Chaparro is facing four counts of child pornography and was ordered held on $50,000 bond. He will next appear in McHenry County court at 9 a.m. on Friday.
Anyone with information about Chaparro is asked to contact the McHenry County Investigations Division at (815) 334-4750.
