Winfield celebrates the Good Old Days

Winfield's Good Old Days celebration officially got under way Friday evening and will continue through Sunday at Beecher Avenue and Church Street.

The festival will feature live music from local bands as well as food, games, rides, contests and even a Sunday parade.

Some offbeat contests will be one of the highlights of Saturday's event, with both a meatball-eating contest and a shoe-kicking contest at 2 p.m.

Sunday will feature a plastic duck race from 10 to 11 a.m. on the West Branch of the DuPage River that runs through Lions Park. The parade steps off at 1 p.m. Sunday near the corner of Winfield Road and Beecher Avenue.
