Holy Week events at United Protestant Church of Grayslake

The community is invited to participate in a variety of Holy Week events being held at the United Protestant Church of Grayslake April 2-5.

Thursday, April 2: At 7:30 p.m. an informal Maundy Thursday Service will include a prayer exercise led by Pastor Gary Waters, communion and music by the adult choirs.

Friday, April 3: At 10 a.m., join the Children's Ministry Committee, church staff and youth for a Good Friday experience for children kindergarten through sixth grade as they walk through Holy Week as Jesus walked. Parents are welcome to attend with their children. At 7:30 p.m., the Good Friday Service will feature a dramatic one-woman eyewitness account of Jesus' crucifixion plus special music by the adult choirs.

Sunday, April 5 Easter Celebration. A sunrise Easter worship service will be held at 6:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. The Men's Fellowship Group will serve a delicious hot breakfast from 7-10 a.m. in Fellowship Hall (free will offering). Two Easter Celebration worship services, at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m., will include a brass choir, Grace Notes Bell Choir, children's choir and adult choirs. Communion, which is open to all, will be served at all three Easter services. Christian Education classes will not meet on Easter Sunday.

The United Protestant Church of Grayslake is affiliated with the United Church of Christ Fox Valley Association and the United Methodist Church Northern Illinois Conference. The church is located in historic downtown Grayslake at 54 S. Whitney St. Worship services are held at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays, with Christian education for all ages at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays during the school year. The senior pastor is Rev. Gary Waters.
