Cardboard regatta at Diamond Lake

The Mundelein Park & Recreation District will host a cardboard regatta at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, at Diamond Lake Beach, 1016 Diamond Lake Road, between Route 60/83 and Route 45/Lake Street. Constructed boats will race on scenic Diamond Lake. Awards will be presented to the fastest boats in each class, along with a host of others ranging from most creative to crowd favorite. Rules for this new event will be provided on registration. Cost per group is $20 for youth/adult entry; business entries $50. Proceeds will benefit the Mundelein Parks Foundation.
