Police: 4 charged with robbery during apparent drug deal
Four men - three from Huntley and one from Woodstock - each were charged with aggravated robbery this week, Woodstock police said Tuesday.
Police were called Monday for a report of an armed robbery on the 1100 block of N. Madison Street, and the two male victims, 17 and 19, gave descriptions of four offenders and their getaway vehicle, according to a news release.
Officers found the car in the area and arrested the four occupants: 19-year-old Alexander J. Robson of Woodstock, and three Huntley men - 25-year-old Aaron W. Wordlaw, 24-year-old Jeremy G. Stokes and 20-year-old Nicholas A. Sanfilippo.
Police said the two victims had arranged a drug sale with one of the men for a small amount of cannabis. But during the drug deal, one of the four men charged showed a pellet gun and stole about 3 grams of cannabis, police said.
Each of the four offenders was charged with aggravated robbery; Sanfilippo also was charged with resisting a peace officer, police said.
Officers didn't find drugs on the accused men or robbery victims, the release said, so the victims have not been charged.
