Arlington Heights cyclist hit by car in Crystal Lake

An Arlington Heights bicyclist was struck by a car Wednesday night near the southern border of Crystal Lake, police said.

Kevin R. Young, 28, was traveling east on Miller Road at Heaven's Gate at about 5 p.m. when a Chevy TrailBlazer driven by Jacob Regul, 30, of Lake in the Hills, was traveling west on Miller Road and tried to turn left onto Heaven's Gate, according to a release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Young was taken to Sherman Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. Police ticketed Regul for driving with a suspended license and failure to yield when turning left.
