Friendship Village Offers Delectable Dining Options

"I am using the Michelin Star rating as my standard with the objective of earning the equivalent of their highest rating. This indicates an exceptional cuisine and great services," said Chef Shae general manager of dining services for Friendship Village.

Chef Shae, who joined Friendship Village earlier this year, brings with him great enthusiasm and creativity with a commitment to making every meal a "true culinary experience" at Friendship Village.

Since his arrival, Chef Shae has visited with and listened to residents about what they'd like to see in their community. "We've reintroduced lobster for the first time in seven years. A resident told me that he hasn't had lobster in years and is so excited," he said. "We're also bringing in beautiful cupcakes, rustic sandwiches, a wine cart and a margarita machine. My first job is finding out what residents want and enjoy, and then providing it."

Also important to Chef Shae, is offering choices. With five major dining venues from the more formal Seasons Restaurant where residents can choose steak and lobster, to Herman's Bar and Grill which serves burgers, salads and spirits, residents have abundant choices. "There's a different experience in each venue and a different service model," said Chef Shae.

What doesn't vary is the level of excellence. "We are hitting a balance of quality, excitement and culinary experience," he said.
