Linehan returning along with Garrett, Marinelli for Cowboys

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Scott Linehan is returning to the Dallas Cowboys along with coach Jason Garrett and will add the title of offensive coordinator after one season as Tony Romo's play-caller.

The Cowboys announced the return of Linehan on Thursday while also confirming new contracts for Garrett and defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, who led a significant improvement from the league's worst defense in 2013.

Linehan takes over as offensive coordinator from Bill Callahan, who had play-calling duties taken away after last season. He also coached the offensive line in three seasons with the Cowboys.

Garrett agreed to a five-year contract after leading Dallas to the playoffs for the first time in his fourth full season. The Cowboys lost in the divisional round to Green Bay.
