Sensationalism drives measles hysteria

"Outbreak raises many more fears than Ebola." Really? Are you kidding me? You're telling me that people are more afraid of measles than Ebola?

I am 58 years old. I can still remember having the measles, as did every kid on the block. I had to stay inside and watch TV, wearing sun glasses to look outside. No big deal, just like the mumps and chickenpox that we all had not that long ago.

And has anyone written anything about vaccine shedding? There is a theory that someone that was recently vaccinated can actually be the source of an outbreak. Stop blaming the unvaccinated for spreading this disease until the source is found.

And stop the sensationalism in these headlines that is just stirring the pot. The picture on the Daily Herald front page of the KinderCare showed a security guard at the door. I am guessing he was hired to keep the press away, and not the measles.
