Believe Project: $100 for a needy family at school where she volunteers

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Bernardine Tracy of Elgin.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"I am a retired special education teacher. I now volunteer at Century Oaks School in Elgin in second grade. I would like to give the $100 to a needy family at the school. Many of the children are on free and reduced lunch. I would like to make one day a little more special for one particular family."

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else.
