Former Streamwood man, already in jail, faces new sex abuse charge
About five months after he was charged with sexually abusing a teenage girl, a 25-year-old former Streamwood man is accused of inappropriately touching a second teen multiple times between 2007 and 2011.
Anthony M. Rivas, formerly of the 0-100 block of Spring Valley Drive, was arrested on a charge of criminal sexual abuse Monday after an investigation by Streamwood police. Rivas was in the Cook County jail on other charges when arrested.
According to police reports, the second teen reported she first was abused in January 2007 when she was 13 years old and sleeping over at the home of a friend related to Rivas. The Rolling Meadows woman, now 20, reported the abuse continued until 2011, according to police reports.
Rivas, who faces up to three years in prison if convicted of the Class 4 felony, was taken to the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows, where a judge set a $100,000 bail.
In the earlier case, Rivas is due back in court June 13.
