Schaumburg's 22nd Annual Community Scholarship Deadline is April 10.

The Village of Schaumburg is encouraging interested applicants of the 22nd Annual Community Scholarship Program to submit their materials by 3 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, to be considered for the scholarship.

The 22nd Annual Community Scholarship is being offered by Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson in cooperation with Business and Career Services, Inc. As a result of the partnership, the village has funding to award a scholarship(s) to qualified resident(s) to pursue educational training, upgrading or retraining. The scholarship can be applied towards tuition, books and any other commensurate educational expenses. A President's Committee will select all winners of the program.

Candidates must submit a completed application and two references by 3 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, to: Office of the President, 101 Schaumburg Court, Schaumburg, Illinois, 60193.

Scholarship recipients will not receive cash. The Associate Director at Business and Career Services, Inc. will assist the scholarship recipient with academic advising, enrollment and payment directly to the educational institution of tuition, fees, books and approved supplies not exceeding the amount of the scholarship. Eligibility for additional services provided through the Workforce Investment Act will also be reviewed with the recipients.

Recipients will be notified by Friday, April 24, 2015, or as soon as possible thereafter. The scholarship is valid until June 15, 2016, and is non-renewable.
