Menchie's brings froyo to Bloomingdale

The newest Menchie's frozen yogurt opens Saturday, July 26, in Bloomingdale. A grand opening weeklong celebration kicks off Saturday with free yogurt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Other activities include $1 yogurt from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday. Kids younger than 10 eat for free from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, get 50 percent off. Friday is buy one get one free from 8 p.m. to close. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Menchie's Frozen Yogurt is at 358 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale. Menchies.com.

Dollar days at Rookies

Rookies All-American Pub and Grill serves up $1 burgers and hot dogs all day everyday throughout July ($1.50 at the Elgin location). Tokio's fire and ice

Tokio Pub chef Naoki Nakashima goes head-to-head with Shaw's Crab House chef Peter Balodimas at a four-course fire and ice beer dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 28. Nakashima's dishes will be served cold, while Balodimas' dishes will be hot. Courses will be paired with Goose Island beers. $45 per person. Tokio Pub is at 1900 E. Higgins Road, Schaumburg.
