Group offers support for breast cancer patients, survivors

Elgin, Ill. - The next meeting of the Breast Cancer Support Group at Advocate Sherman Hospital will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Lake Level Conference Room 1 at the hospital, 1425 N. Randall Road, Elgin.

Topics for the August meeting include complementary medications and chemotherapy, herbal medications and supplements, as well as simple exercise tips from lymphedema specialist Lisa Recher.

The support group meets the second Tuesday of every month, and provides support, education and understanding for those with breast cancer, survivors, family members and friends. It also offers participants an opportunity to connect with other survivors, and provides information about treatment options available at Sherman Hospital.
