Help support Mutual Ground at Sugar Grove church dinner Nov. 14
Mark your calendars for the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church's first ethnic themed dinner - "It's a Small World." The dinner will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Sugar Grove Community Building, 141 Main St.
The event supports Mutual Ground through freewill offerings. There is a signup sheet on the fellowship room shelf.
Help with your favorite ethnic main dish, salad/side dish, dessert, and rolls or bread and help with setup and cleanup also is needed. If you are interested in helping out, call the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church at (630) 466-4501 or email sugargroveumc@sbcglobal.net.
Mutual Ground desperately needs help. The safety net of services needed for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse - women and children - who have found the courage to seek help, need the doors of Mutual Ground to remain open. Due to the lack of a state budget, Mutual Ground has received absolutely no state funding in over four months. The yearly total counted on from the state to provide services is $679,000. They are in a spending and hiring freeze with no shift coverage for employees who are ill or on vacation. They are grateful for the $80,000 raised at the Walk for Hope - but the money will only go so far to provide the help these women and children need. Plan to attend and/or help at the dinner.
